Australian bank connections in ZoneReconcile use Basiq under the Consumer Data Right (CDR) framework, with consent valid for up to 365 days. Renew consent before it expires to maintain uninterrupted transaction sync and avoid having to re-link your bank accounts.
Overview
Consent to access your bank data expires 365 days after it was granted. If consent expires without renewal, Basiq removes all bank connections and the unique account identifiers change permanently — you must complete the full bank linking process again. There is no grace period.
How to check when consent expires
- Navigate to Setup > ZoneReconcile Setup > Connectivity API.
- Locate the Australian bank institution in the table.
- Open the Bank Institution record.
- Find the Consent Renewal Timestamp field — this shows your consent expiry date directly. No calculation is needed.
Advance notifications
ZoneReconcile proactively notifies you when consent is 60 days from expiry:
- A warning banner appears on the Connectivity API dashboard.
- The Update button appears on the institution row, allowing you to start the renewal process.
- An email notification is sent to:
- All NetSuite administrators on the account
- The employee registered on the Basiq user profile for that bank connection
The email notification includes an Extend Consent Now button that links directly to the consent renewal flow.
Important: Ensure the mobile number and email address on the Basiq user profile are current before the 60-day window arrives. Even though administrators are also notified, the registered employee's mobile number is required to complete the renewal flow. If the registered employee has left the company, update their details before attempting renewal. See How to Update User Profile Details on an AU Bank Connection in ZoneReconcile.
When the Update button appears
The Update button on the Connectivity API dashboard appears automatically when either of these conditions is true:
- The Consent Renewal Timestamp shows expiry is 60 days or less away, or
- The most recent Audit Log entry for the institution is failing
If neither condition applies, the button is not shown — your connection is healthy and consent renewal is not yet needed.
Before you renew — check your mobile number
The consent process requires a valid, accessible mobile phone number on your Basiq user profile. During the consent pop-up, the last 3 digits of the registered mobile number are displayed. See How to Update User Profile Details on an AU Bank Connection in ZoneReconcile.
How to renew consent
- Navigate to Setup > ZoneReconcile Setup > Connectivity API.
- Click the Update button next to the Australian bank institution.
- Review the legal consent screen displaying the data sharing information.
- Verify the existing user details displayed on the next screen are correct.
- Complete the consent flow in the new browser pop-up window:
- Select your bank in the Basiq consent interface.
- Log in using your online banking credentials.
- Grant consent to extend the data sharing period.
- Wait for the pop-up to close automatically — the Consent Renewal Timestamp updates on the Bank Institution record with the new expiry date, and an audit log entry is created.
Important: Ensure your browser is not blocking pop-ups for your NetSuite domain. The consent window opens in a separate browser window and will not work if pop-ups are blocked.
What happens if consent expires
If the consent expiry date shown in the Consent Renewal Timestamp field passes without renewal:
- Basiq removes all bank connections associated with that consent.
- The unique account identifiers change permanently.
- Transaction sync stops.
- You must complete the full bank linking process again.
- Previously linked GL account mappings must be reconfigured for the new institution records.
Important: Renewal is the only way to avoid this. There is no grace period and no way to recover the original connection after full expiry.
Frequently asked questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Does transaction sync stop while I'm renewing? | No. Existing sync continues to run normally until the expiry date shown in the Consent Renewal Timestamp field. Renewing before expiry has no impact on ongoing sync. |
| Can I renew consent before the 60-day window? | The Update button only appears when the Consent Renewal Timestamp shows expiry is within 60 days, or when the most recent audit log is failing. You cannot renew earlier than that. |
| I renewed consent but the Consent Renewal Timestamp hasn't updated — what happened? | If you closed the consent pop-up before completing the bank authentication, the renewal was not completed. Try again, ensuring you complete the full flow including logging into your bank and granting consent. The field updates to reflect the new expiry date once renewal is successfully completed. |
| Does renewal change my bank account identifiers or GL mappings? | No. Successful renewal preserves your existing connections, account identifiers, and GL account mappings. Only a full expiry causes identifiers to change. |
| Who receives the consent expiry notification email? | The notification is sent to all NetSuite administrators on the account and to the employee registered on the Basiq user profile for that bank connection. |
| What if I don't act within the 60-day window? | If consent expires without renewal, all bank connections are removed and you must re-link from scratch. There is no grace period. Renew as soon as the 60-day notification arrives. |
