BR-2911 Bank Connectivity AU enablement
ZoneReconcile has officially introduced Bank Connectivity for Australia, powered by Basiq. This expands the platform's reach to AU financial institutions, enabling direct bank feeds alongside the existing Plaid integration for US, CA, EU and the UK.
Key highlights include:
Seamless AU Integration: Users can now connect their Australian bank accounts directly within the Bank Connectivity dashboard, using the same wizard-style flow familiar from the Plaid integration.
Link Additional Accounts: Users with an existing AU institution can link further bank accounts from the same or a different bank without repeating the full setup — simply grant consent and link a GL account.
User Profile Management for AU Connections: Connection credentials are tied to a user profile rather than individual tokens. Users can update the profile details (name, email, mobile number) associated with their AU bank connection. This is particularly useful when the employee who originally set up the connection has left the organisation.
Business Details & ABN/ACN Validation: A regulatory requirement unique to the AU region, the user registration form collects additional business details required for production use, including ABN/ACN number, address, suburb, and postcode. The ABN/ACN number is validated in real time against the Australian Business Register, and users cannot proceed with form submission until a valid number is provided.
Consent Lifecycle Management: The connection requires active consent management. A Consent Expiration Date field has been added to the Bank Institution record, automatically populated when a user links a bank or bank account. An audit log is created when consent is extended via the Update button on the Bank Connectivity dashboard, along with an updated consent renewal timestamp — providing a clear record of when consent was last renewed and when it will next expire.
Institution Disconnect: The "Remove Access" flow intelligently manages the shared Basiq user model — removing only the specific bank connection when other AU institutions remain, or fully cleaning up when the last institution is disconnected.
To connect your AU bank accounts, use the standard Bank Connectivity path from the ZoneReconcile dashboard described on this link Connectivity API, Setup Assistant and select the AU region.
