Overview
Access Working Capital Insights by navigating to Setup > ZoneLiquidity > Working Capital Insights. Unlike the Cash Forecast chart, Working Capital Insights does not use AI or predictive modelling. It is a real-time snapshot of the open, unpaid transactions from NetSuite, with no date range limit. Every open vendor bill and customer invoice is included regardless of when it was created or when it is due, and is bucketed by how many days outstanding each transaction is relative to today.
Important: The transactions shown in Working Capital Insights are scoped to the transaction types selected when the forecast was created. For example, if only vendor bills and customer invoices were included in the forecast setup, Working Capital Insights will show only those transaction types. Transactions from sales orders or other unsupported transaction types will not appear. The view always reflects all currently open transactions of those types — there is no fixed date range.
Filtering the view
Select a forecast from the Forecast pick-list to load the relevant data. Optionally, select a specific subsidiary from the Subsidiary pick-list to filter the view to a single subsidiary.
Currency behaviour
Currency display in Working Capital Insights depends on the subsidiary filter applied:
- When All Subsidiaries is selected, all amounts display in the headquarter subsidiary's currency.
- When a specific subsidiary is selected, amounts display in that subsidiary's native currency.
Tip: Use the subsidiary filter when you need to review working capital figures in a local currency. The All Subsidiaries view consolidates amounts into the headquarter currency and is best used for a consolidated overview.
Summary buckets
The top of the Working Capital Insights page displays 4 summary buckets:
| Bucket | Description |
|---|---|
| Total AP outstanding | The total value of open vendor bills included in the selected forecast that have not yet been paid. |
| Total AR outstanding | The total value of open customer invoices included in the selected forecast that have not yet been received. |
| Potential savings | The total discount amount available if eligible vendor bills are paid within their early payment discount window. This bucket is only populated when payment discount terms exist on open vendor bills. |
| Critical actions | The total number of AP and AR transactions that require urgent attention based on their due date risk classification. |
AP risk buckets
Open accounts payable transactions are grouped into 3 risk categories based on their due dates and payment terms:
| Bucket | Criteria | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Early payment opportunity | Not yet due; early payment discount terms available (e.g. 2/10 Net 30) | Payment is not yet overdue. An early payment discount may be available if paid within the discount window. |
| Urgent payment required | Due within 7 days, or 1–29 days overdue | Payment is approaching or recently overdue. Take action promptly to avoid further delay. |
| Critical action required | 30 or more days overdue | Payment is significantly overdue. Immediate review is required. |
Important: Working Capital Insights only displays transactions that have been synced to ZoneLiquidity as of today's date. Future-dated transactions — such as recurring vendor bills pre-generated in NetSuite for upcoming months — will not appear in the view until they are synced on or after their transaction date. As a result, early payment discount opportunities on those future-dated bills will not be visible until that time. This behaviour is under review for a future release.
AR risk buckets
Open accounts receivable transactions are grouped into 3 risk categories based on their due dates and customer payment history:
| Bucket | Criteria | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Expected on-time | Not yet due | Payment is not yet due. No action is required at this time. |
| At-risk payment | Due within 7 days; 1–29 days overdue; or not yet due but from an entity with a late payment history | Payment may be at risk. Follow up with the customer, particularly where a pattern of late payment exists. |
| Critical collection | 30 or more days overdue | Payment is significantly overdue. Escalate collection efforts immediately. |
Viewing transactions within a bucket
Click Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable to expand the transaction list for that category. Transactions are grouped by risk level. Each transaction row displays the transaction type, vendor or customer name, document number, amount, days outstanding, risk classification and the late history.
Click any document link in the transaction list to open the corresponding record directly in NetSuite.
Tip: Use Working Capital Insights alongside the Cash Forecast chart to understand not only what the projected bank balance will be, but also which specific open transactions are driving the expected inflows and outflows. This is particularly useful when planning payment runs or following up on overdue receivables.
Understanding the 'Late History' Column
The Late History column gives you a quick snapshot of a counterparty's payment reliability based on past transactions. For Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), this column tracks how often payments missed their due dates and the severity of those delays.
Here is how to read the data in each row:
1. Late Payment Frequency
The top number shows how many times this entity has paid late (or been paid late) in the past.
- Orange Text: Indicates a standard history of late payments
- Red Text: Indicates a High Risk status (latePaymentRisk is active), signaling that their payment history requires closer attention
2. Average Days Late
Right below the frequency, you will see smaller, secondary text (e.g., avg 5d). This tells you the average number of days those past payments went overdue. It helps you understand if a counterparty is typically just a couple of days late or weeks behind schedule.
3. What does a dash (—) mean?
If you see a simple dash, it means there is no history of late payments for this counterparty (latePaymentCount is zero or empty). You can consider them up-to-date and on time.
