Overview
Once a forecast has been generated and its status is Completed (or Active), navigate to Setup > ZoneLiquidity > Forecasting to access the Forecasting dashboard.
At the top of the dashboard, you will find:
- Forecast Name & Status: Displays the active forecast title along with a status badge (e.g., Oct - Dec 2026 Forecast (#13) with an Active badge).
- Summary Metadata: Horizon details, opening balance, and cut-off date (e.g., 92-day forecast showing cash flow by account category across multiple periods, opening balance $2,654,987.08 as of Sep 30, 2026).
- Header action buttons:
- New Scenario: Opens the Scenario Planning Agent so you can create and simulate what-if scenario models (e.g., delayed customer receipts, accelerated vendor payments, headcount additions, or major capital expenditures) branched from the active baseline forecast without altering production numbers.
- Forecast History: View, inspect, and audit historical forecast runs and snapshot iterations generated over time to see how projections have evolved.
- Compare Forecasts: Open the comparison view to evaluate 2 forecast models, scenarios, or historical snapshots side by side.
- Refresh Forecast: Trigger an on-demand synchronization with NetSuite to ingest the latest ledger transactions and update AI-predicted timing.
- Display controls: Toggle between Line Chart and Bar Chart, or enable Log Scale for visual balance adjustments across large variance ranges.
Interactive forecast chart
The interactive forecast chart visualizes liquidity trajectories and cash movements over the selected forecast horizon. Use the interactive timeline slider at the bottom to scroll and zoom into specific date intervals.
Chart views: Line Chart vs. Bar Chart
Toggle between 2 distinct chart presentations using the controls in the upper-right corner of the chart.
| Chart view | Primary purpose | What it displays |
|---|---|---|
| Line Chart | Cumulative liquidity & trend | Continuous forecasted cash balance over time on the left Y-axis, with optional daily inflow/outflow overlays on the right Y-axis, plus reference lines. |
| Bar Chart | Daily cash movement | Day-by-day inflow and outflow bars (cash in vs. cash out per day). |
Line Chart view (running balance)
- Balance & flow axes: Dual-axis layout displaying total cash balance on the left Y-axis and daily flow volumes on the right Y-axis.
- Continuous trend: Visualizes running liquidity over time to highlight cash peaks, troughs, and potential shortfalls against targets.
Bar Chart view (inflows & outflows)
- Inflow & outflow visualization: Switches focus entirely to daily cash velocity.
- Inflows: Plotted upward above the zero line for expected cash receipts.
- Outflows: Plotted downward below the zero line for outgoing disbursements.
- Daily cash velocity: Provides a clear day-by-day breakdown of gross cash in versus gross cash out without the cumulative balance line.
- Interactive date selection: Click any individual daily bar to isolate that specific date and automatically filter the Forecast Events table below to show only that day's scheduled transactions.
- Log Scale: Toggle Log Scale to normalize bar heights when high-volume billing runs or large single-day invoices distort typical daily flow visibility.
Series shown (chart controls)
Use the Series shown control cards to toggle specific data layers on the chart.
Important: Toggling these buttons modifies the chart visualization only. They do not filter the Forecast Events table below.
| Series card | Toggle button | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Forecasted Cash Balance | Forecasted cash balance | Projects future balances based on cash that has already moved through your bank accounts over the past year. |
| Inflow / Outflow | Inflow / Outflow | Visualizes the daily cash flow behind the Forecasted Cash Balance, broken down into money received (Inflow) and paid out (Outflow) on the right-hand Daily Flow axis. |
| Enhanced Projections | Open AP / AR | Incorporates open NetSuite transactions (Customer Invoices, Vendor Bills, etc.) with expected cash settlement dates determined by historical payment patterns and AI timing behavior. |
| Reference lines | Cash Milestone Target / Liquidity Floor | Fixed financial targets across the timeline: Liquidity Floor sets the minimum cash balance threshold required to maintain safe operations; Cash Milestone Target sets the desired cash balance objective for a specific milestone date. |
Forecast Events subtab
The Forecast Events subtab provides summary cards, multi-dimensional filters, and a granular event breakdown for all projected cash movements.
Summary totals
Located directly above the table, the financial summary cards display high-level totals across the entire forecast horizon (consolidated in the base currency):
- Total Inflows: Total projected incoming cash, including a sub-breakdown for Enhanced Projections.
- Total Outflows: Total projected outgoing cash, including a sub-breakdown for Enhanced Projections.
Filters and date controls
Use the filter bar to refine the events displayed in the table:
- Forecast type: Filter by model layer (e.g., All forecast types, Open AP / AR).
- Transaction type: Filter by NetSuite transaction type (e.g., Vendor Bill, Invoice).
- Flows: Filter by cash direction (All flows, Inflows, Outflows).
- Counterparty: Search or select specific vendors or customers.
- GL account: Filter by specific general ledger accounts.
- Date range & Basis Selector: Define a date window and choose the date evaluation basis:
- Cash: Filters by expected cash settlement date.
- Due: Filters by original NetSuite document due date.
- AI: Filters by the AI-predicted payment date.
- Reset: Clear all applied filters back to default.
Forecast Events table columns

Variance Analysis subtab
The Variance Analysis subtab tracks forecasting accuracy over time by comparing projected cash flows against actual reconciled bank ledger balances. Actuals and variance metrics populate automatically as periods close and bank statements are reconciled in NetSuite.
How to compare forecasts
The Compare Forecasts dashboard allows you to evaluate 2 forecast runs, historical snapshot versions, or what-if scenarios side by side to analyze differences in projected cash positions, inflows, outflows, and net liquidity over time.
Access the Compare Forecasts screen.
From the main Forecasting dashboard header, click Compare Forecasts, then select the two forecasts you would like to compare.
The dedicated comparison screen opens with top-level navigation:
- ← Back to Cash Forecast: Return to the primary forecast dashboard.
- Compare different: Change the selected forecast definitions or versions being evaluated.
- Export: Download the comparison summary and cash flow dataset.
Review the selected forecast details.
At the top of the comparison screen, 2 side-by-side cards display metadata for the active models:
Forecast card Indicator Details displayed Forecast 1 (Baseline) Blue accent border Name, Status (Completed), Forecast Period (e.g., Sep 2026 – Dec 2026), and Creation Date. Forecast 2 (Comparison) Green accent border Name, Status (Completed), Forecast Period, and Creation Date. 💡 Tip: To evaluate a different baseline or comparison target, click Compare different next to the title.
Analyze the Summary Metrics Comparison.
Below the forecast cards, the Summary Metrics Comparison section provides high-level variance cards comparing key financial metrics between the 2 models:
- Total Inflows: Displays total expected cash receipts for Forecast 1 against Forecast 2, along with the net variance delta.
- Total Outflows: Displays total expected cash disbursements across both models with the calculated difference.
- Net Position: Displays the overall net cash position (Total Inflows minus Total Outflows) for both models and the resulting delta.
Evaluate the Cash Flow Comparison chart.
The Cash Flow Comparison chart plots both forecasts across a unified weekly timeline:
- Visual trajectory: Color-coded trend lines represent the cash flow paths of Forecast 1 and Forecast 2.
- Divergence points: Visual peaks and valleys illustrate the timing and magnitude of variances — such as large receipt spikes or scheduled disbursement differences — across specific weeks.
- Granular inspection: Hover over any weekly data point to see exact projected figures and the variance between both forecasts for that period.
